MY STORY
My name is Íde and I have had a passion for animals from a very young age. I have dedicated much of my free time over the years to Animal Rescue, volunteering and helping with the fight against Animal cruelty. A number of years ago, I had a beautiful German Shepherd rescue called Sheba. As she became older, she developed bad arthritis in her hind legs, which really affected her quality of life. There wasn’t a huge amount the vet could offer apart from pain management. Slowly, I watched her decline and it was heartbreaking. Desperate to try anything that could help her, I turned to Hydrotherapy. What happened next was amazing - it gave Sheba another 2 good years, for which I was so grateful. This is what inspired me to to change career and open my very own clinic but first, I needed to get qualified. I did this by studying with K9HS, under Barbara Houlding, a very well known Chartered Physiotherapist and Veterinary Physiotherapist in the UK and became a fully qualified level 3 Canine Hydrotherapist. I continue to study so I can stay updated and provide the best care to all my dogs.
My vision is to help more dogs like Sheba, so that they and their owners can enjoy life together, for as long as possible. I have an holistic approach; working ‘with’ your dog, not ‘on’ them. I use Therapeutic Handling and Therapeutic Enrichment to build a professional bond of trust and confidence with your dog. I particulary love working with senior dogs, providing the therapeutic care, support and management they need in their later years.
I have 3 beautiful rescue dogs, Freya, Max and Jessie that have me well and truly wrapped around their paws.
